The deadline for the CAO ‘Change-of-Mind’ facility is 5:00pm, 1 July. Over 60% of CAO applicants use this facility each year, and with the deadline fast approaching, ATU Donegal is encouraging prospective students to consider ATU Donegal in their CAO choices.

This week, we are spotlighting ATU Donegal student stories, hearing from current students and recent graduates about their student journeys and their ATU Donegal experience.

Here’s a snapshot of the student stories you’ll see profiled this week and why ATU Donegal was the right choice for them.

Jamie Herrity chose ATU as a mature student after discovering his passion for culinary arts while working in the hospitality industry. Jamie was confident that his ambition in culinary arts would be supported at ATU Donegal given the prestigious list of graduates holding court in some of the best known and rated hospitality settings in the world.

Philomena O’Donnell was encouraged by family and teachers to harness her love of metal work at leaving cert level into a third level degree. Philomena backed herself and is now at the halfway mark in a BEng Mechanical Engineering degree and enjoying all that student life has to offer.

It was Matthew McCole’s competitive sporting edge that kept him in Donegal as he decided to study at ATU Donegal. Matthew, an elite boxer, wanted to continue training with his local club in Dungloe and was relieved that he had the option to match his sporting excellence with academic excellence at ATU Donegal.

Far away hills are not always greener as Peadar Mogan found out when he first went to study at a University in Dublin. Peadar was playing for Donegal U20s team and the travel commitment he had to endure a few times a week was taking its toll. Peadar made the switch to ATU Donegal and hasn’t looked back, he found the right balance between sport and academia that allowed him to have the best possible student experience.

If you want to be part of these success stories, the right CAO choice might be closer than you think. Hear from these students on ATU Donegal Instagram Live chats @atudonegal_ taking place from Monday 27 June – Thursday 30 June at 12:30pm.
