Say Yes to That Dress is coming to Letterkenny this weekend in aid of Mobilize for Mikaela.

If you fancy a new wardrobe for the new year, here’s a fantastic Friday night out in aid of a great cause!

Say Yes To That Dress comes to Dillon’s Hotel Letterkenny on Friday 12th January. It’s a free event with Prosecco, nibbles and presents a great excuse to get the girls together for a night out.

This night isn’t just for brides, like the TV show, as there is a great mix of dresses, clothing, handbags, costume jewellery and shoes – all donated by stylish ladies of all shapes and sizes.

There will be bargains galore and great fun as guests get to browse and bag some new looks. There will also be live music and entertainment.

Sinead Breen gave us a sneak peek at the quality of clothing that will be on offer: “All the items are literally selling for a tiny fraction of the original cost. All are in excellent condition. Many have not been worn and still have tags attached, most others have been worn once.”

The night begins at 9pm, and all are welcome to attend. A bus is leaving from Mannies Bar in Convoy at 8pm.

Mikaela Breen

Proceeds from Say Yes to That Dress are in aid of Mikaela Breen, a 7-year-old Convoy schoolgirl who has Spina bifida lipomyelomeningocele and bladder and bowel problems. She is due to have life-changing specialist surgery to avoid further debilitation.

Mikaela will be travelling to Alder Hey in England for spinal surgery in two weeks’ time. Her surgery date is set for January 31st.

Mikaela’s parents Sinead and Chris have expressed hope and anxiety over the upcoming procedure: “Naturally we are petrified as all parents would be that something will go wrong but we have to reconcile this with the fact that Mikaela will continue to disimprove if we don’t try. We genuinely do not know how we are going to get through the time she is in surgery but we know that once it goes to plan we will do what we have always done and just get on with it.”

After her surgery in England, Mikaela – who will be eight next month – will travel to the Boston Children’s Hospital in America for further treatment.

A GoFundMe page is open to raise funds for Mikaela’s treatment costs. If you wish to donate click here: www.gofundme.com/mobilizeformikaela

All support for Mikaela and the Say Yes to That Dress event is very welcome.
