A Donegal woman is set to feature in a stylish new TV show about wedding dresses.

Anne McFadden (nee Doherty) from Gaoth Dobhair will tell her story of her special gown in “An Gúna Bainise” on TG4.

Anne met her husband Eddie McFadden from Cloich Cheann Fhaola in 1980, and the rest is history!

An Gúna Bainise shines a light on the wedding dresses that are worn for a day then boxed away.

Over six episodes, viewers will hear the real-life tales of Irish brides told through the stories of the dresses, the day and the loved ones that shared each magical moment.

To help tell each story brides are joined by grooms, family and friends, each with a tale to tell.

Anne joins the first episode with her husband Eddie, airing on TG4 on 18th October 8.30pm.

Cathal Ó Gallchóir, also from Donegal, is in episode two as his wife Caitríona Ní Dhonnchú from Dublin tells her wedding story.

“An Gúna Bainise” mixes heart-warming stories of love conquering all with poignant tales of love lost all too soon. Complementing each story will be Fashion Designer Deirdre Allen and Social Historian Síle De Cléir, putting context to our dresses, the era in which they were worn and how they reflect the wider changes in our society.
