⭐ North West Breast Cancer Charity Ball Special Guest ⭐

Virgin Media’s Ciara Doherty is the special guest at this year’s fundraising ball at the Silver Tassie Hotel on Friday, 1st December at 7.15pm.

The organising committee is delighted to welcome Letterkenny woman Ciara Doherty, presenter of The Tonight Show, as the celebrity guest at this year’s ball.

Given her busy lifestyle, the organisers of the Breast Cancer Charity Ball are particularly appreciative of Ciara’s generosity in agreeing to be this year’s special celebrity guest.

This is the 13th breast cancer charity ball and the organisers are keen to make sure that everyone knows that this is first and foremost a community event.

Máire Lynam, committee member, said “We see the Breast Ball as an opportunity for the whole community to gather together to acknowledge and support the tremendous work being done at Breast Centre North West. However, and perhaps more importantly, we gather to celebrate and remember.”

Máire adds: "We even changed the ball date to ensure it didn’t coincide with The Toy Show …we really DO want everyone there!”

We enjoyed unforgettable moments today as I joined day three of the donegalcamino.

From the music, the sunshine and the friendly chat, our hike to Horn Head was a wonderful experience.

But what made it even more special was knowing that we were taking big steps to make a difference. The Donegal Camino is not just a beautiful walk, it's a walk with a purpose.

The week of walking raises funds for cancer_care_west

It also showcases Donegal as a world class walking and hiking destination, and today’s views were the perfect example of what Donegal has to offer.

More than 80 people trekked from Dunfanaghy to Horn Head, taking in breathtaking coastal scenes. We enjoyed top class entertainment from Mickey Joe Harte, accordion player Seamus O'Sullivan and the greatest showman… Noel Cunningham!

Thanks to the organising committee, the professional guides and all the volunteers for the lovely day and best of luck on your journey to Sliabh Liag.

Letterkenny mum Lisa is facing cancer head-on by shaving her head for charity.

Her fundraiser took place today in aid of cancer_care_west, which has supported Lisa since her diagnosis in March.

Lisa is already known as a local superwoman, having made it to the final of Ireland’s Fittest Family in 2022, alongside her children Connor, Molly, and James.

And she took her latest challenge in her stride today, surrounded by friends and family at Haircraft Letterkenny.

Ballybofey artist Veronica Maguire is opening a solo exhibition in the Alley Theatre Strabane this week, featuring an impressive 52 paintings.

‘Captivating Art in Locations and Nature’ is a collection inspired by Veronica’s longings to travel during lockdown.

The exhibition is free to enjoy from Monday 10th July – Friday 4th August.

If you would like to meet the artist, come along and meet Veronica on Tuesday 18th July from 11am where Veronica will be available for a chat and a tour around the exhibition.

Kindhearted local woman Nora Singh welcomes visitors to enjoy her rose garden in Ballybofey for a great cause this weekend.

Nora’s garden is a gem of a rose garden in a modern housing development just outside Ballybofey. It features a huge range of rose varieties (Climbers, Hybrid Tea and Floribunda) in every colour and with fragrances that will knock your socks off.

Nora’s Rose Garden is situated at 85 Blue Cedars, Ballybofey, and will be open from 11am to 6pm on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th July.

Nora will be donating all of the visitors' donations to Twin Towns Lost and Found Dogs.

Assisted by her husband Jeet, Nora's stunning blooms attract many visitors every year!

Congratulations to Accountant Online founder Larissa Feeney, who has been elected as the new president of the Donegal Women in Business Network.

The appointment was made during the not-for-profit’s recent AGM. Larissa Feeney is a fellow chartered accountant (FCA) with over 15 years’ experience. She is the CEO of Accountant Online, Ireland’s award-winning online chartered accountancy firm.

Other appointments to the Donegal Women in Business Network include committee members Sheila Russell and Sally Murphy who were elected joint vice presidents, while Lyndsey Reynolds takes over as secretary of the committee and Susan Stevenson was appointed assistant treasurer.

The voluntary committee is comprised of like-minded women in business who all share huge pride and passion in supporting and empowering women in business.
