Newtowncunningham woman Oliva Robb has expressed her gratitude for the “effort, support and love” put into a hugely successful fashion show at Penneys Letterkenny.

€5,190 was raised on Tuesday as three hundred people attended the fun and fashionable fundraiser for Penneys staff member Olivia, who was recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Olivia said: “Thank you so much to my Penneys family for their fantastic fundraising for me and my family.

“We are delighted with the great amount raised and we are delighted and grateful for the effort, support and love put in to the night.”

It was the first fashion show of its kind to take place in the Penneys store, and staff pulled out all the stops to ensure it was packed with plenty of surprises.

One of the great looks modelled on the night!

Members of the 130-strong Penneys team and their little ones stepped up to strut it out on the catwalk, where they were joined by well-known social media stars and an incredible Robb family St. Patrick’s Day spectacular!

The upbeat atmosphere was fueled by DJ Marty Friel and the wonderful MC ‘Made Up Mummy’ Sarah Terry Sweeney.

Retail Manager Maura Doherty said: “A big thank you to all that helped and contributed. A special night was had and memories made.”

Olivia, originally from Sligo, has been a much-valued member of part of the Letterkenny team since 1995.

“With almost 30 years experience, everyone here is fond of Olivia. Always pleasant, bubbly and friendly, always with a smile on her face and willing to help out other colleagues,” said store manager George Murphy.

The support doesn’t stop at the runway. Other fundraisers on the calendar for Olivia are a reunion for past and present Penneys employees on Easter Saturday. Additionally, staff member Claire Coughlan is donating all proceeds from her Self Care Wellness event on May 16th at the Silver Tassie.

All funds raised will go towards supporting Olivia, her husband Brendan, and their 13-year-old daughter Lisa. The goal is to help cover the costs of adapted transport, medical equipment, and accommodation for hospital appointments in Dublin.

Donations are being accepted by staff in-store at Penneys Letterkenny, or donate online to help the Robb family here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-robb-family
