People of all ages are invited to a community walk in Letterkenny Town Park next week ahead of the annual ‘Walk to Knock’.

This year’s Mary’s Meals Sponsored Walk from Malin Town to Knock commences on Monday the 7th August and arrives in Knock in the morning of Tuesday 15th August.

For those who wish to take part, but for some reason cannot do so, Mary’s Meals have planned a walk in Letterkenny Town Park for Tuesday 8th August from 1pm to 2.00pm Everyone is welcome to take part, no matter what your fitness or age.

All children taking part must be accompanied by an adult.

“We would encourage workers to take part during their lunch hour and you can walk for as long as you wish. If however you only want to do one lap or even half a lap that is ok too,” organisers said.

“Please come along and enjoy the fresh air and show solidarity with the walkers to Knock and for the children who are getting fed by Mary’s Meals and those who are still waiting to receive Meals. We look forward to seeing you there.”

Mary’s Meals is an International School Feeding Charity that provides hungry children with one daily meal in a place of education in areas where hunger and poverty often stand in the way of education. Mary’s Meals currently feeds over 2.4 million children every school day, at an average cost of just €22 for a whole school year.
