Gratitude will be the order of the day when local couple Stephen and Elaine Doherty host a coffee morning in Letterkenny this Thursday 6th July.

The fundraiser aims to support the Letterkenny University Hospital Paediatrics Ward and its staff who gave wonderful care to their baby girl Clara.

Little Clara, now a healthy and happy one-year-old, fell seriously ill at the beginning of 2023. She suffered a post chicken pox infection and had developed Strep A septicaemia and Cellulitis. She was just 10 months old.

She was transferred to Crumlin the following morning, where she spent a week before returning back to LUH for follow-up treatment and readmission after developing rotavirus afterwards.

“The staff in Letterkenny University Hospital were amazing and we are in awe at their diligence and prompt treatment of Clara,” Elaine said.

Elaine and Stephen wanted to give back to the hospital and community that supported them during a difficult time. This Thursday 6th July, they are hosting a coffee morning in the Vestry (St. Conal’s Campus) at 10am-12noon to raise funds for the Paediatric Ward.

There will be an exciting draw on the day with a large hamper and multiple prizes up for grabs from local businesses.

Guests will enjoy delicious fresh baked goods sponsored by local bakeries. All welcome.
