Update: On further discussion, Dublin Gospel Choir and An Grianán Theatre have made the decision to postpone their fundraising event for Creeslough until Saturday 25th February 2023.

The hugely popular Dublin Gospel Choir will return to the stage of Letterkenny’s An Grianán Theatre on 22nd October.

One of the members who will be especially thrilled to be back in Donegal is Soprano Charlene Craig from Inishowen. She said: “It’s been a joy to get back to performing with the Dublin Gospel Choir after our long break.

“We have a true passion for the music we sing, and it’s fantastic to get to share it with an audience in an intimate theatre setting. Our passion for what we do is infectious, and audiences always leave the theatre uplifted. It’s particularly special to perform with the Dublin Gospel Choir in Donegal in front of my friends and family, and to share this joyous experience with a Donegal audience. It’s going to be a fantastic night!”

When the group wrapped up their sold-out Christmas shows at the end of 2019, little did they know almost three years would pass before they would perform at live events again. Though the choir and band members kept their spirits up during lockdown with virtual rehearsals and a beautiful collaboration on ‘Saving Grace’ with world renowned Irish rockers Kodaline and the RTE Concert Orchestra, they longed for their live shows and Festival appearances.

Thankfully, Summer 2022 saw the Choir return to the Irish festival circuit with appearances at festivals such as the family-friendly Kaleidoscope in Co. Wicklow and the sold-out Electric Picnic. The choir has been a Main Stage highlight since Electric Festival’s inception and this year, local headliners Picture This invited Dublin Gospel Choir to be their special, surprise guests on Saturday night. Collaborating on Picture This’ newest song ‘Get On My Love’, the joy of performing to such rapturous crowds again drew more than a few tears from the choir members!

‘Derry Girl’ Emma Carey is also excited to be in home territory again  “It’s hard to put into words how lovely it is to see our audiences smile and sing again! Our appearance in An Grianán coincides with the City of Derry International Choir Festival, so we’re thrilled to be nearby that weekend. Donegal and Derry are certainly leading the way in events and festivals this Autumn!”
