Be You Donegal – A special event for every woman

UPDATE: This event has been postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. A new date will be announced in due course.

Donegal’s first BE YOU event is taking place this March and is set to be a wonderful day out with a difference.

This health, wellness, fashion and beauty event places a special focus on self-care, overcoming challenges and feeling good. Talks will feature some of Donegal’s most inspirational women.

The event, which gained roots on the west coast, will be brought to Donegal by Megan Durkan from Mayo – Makeup with Megan D.

It takes place in the Central Hotel Donegal Town on Sunday 29th March from 2.30pm. Tickets would be a great Mother’s Day gift idea.

Here, Megan gives us a flavour of the fabulous plans for BE YOU:

As a makeup artist, busy mum and woman in her thirties, I am always on the go rarely having time for myself, most women I meet no matter what age are facing the same battles. We are the last on our lists and look after everyone else first.

When my Mum died three years ago I had to start from scratch, as a young single mother, we were super close all my life, we were our own partnership and as it happens ended up being in partnership in business years later. When she got sick my whole world changed after she passed away. I was different, I wasn’t the same person anymore and I needed to come to terms with that.

I meet women everyday of the week in similar circumstances, we chat, compare and really just vent…

This has given me a passion to help others and help other women find out who they really are and embrace it….

HENCE…BE YOU !!!!

The BEST DAY out of the YEAR!

If you would like to share a special day filled with fashion, beauty, health and wellness..this is the DAY out for you, so grab your mother, sister, friends and neighbours and spend the day with us !!!

The day will start at the Central Hotel & Leisure Club Donegal with doors opening at 2pm…PROSECCO reception, but don’t fret the prosecco will be flowing for the day.

I ( Makeup with Megan) will be the host of the day with panels of professional from the health, wellness and beauty professions. Since starting my business in 2010 I have had a real passion for helping women feel good about themselves. I understand and experience the day to day struggles we all encounter and following my mother’s short battle with cancer and her passing my passion to BE ME and help others embrace their INNER BEAUTY grew STRONGER…that has brought us to BE YOU!

The AMAZING Nikki Bradley will be joining us to give us all the MOTIVATION we need to be true to ourselves and follow and fulfil our dreams. Nikki is UNBELIEVABLE, has survived cancer, hip operations and constant pain without complaining…not only that…this year she will climb Kilimanjaro.

The S-Mum Blog ( Maria Rushe), this women is a powerhouse, busy mum, fitness instructor and business owner. There is nothing this woman can’t do…in her down time, she hits to the stage and also directs musicals!!! One word.. WOW!

Lynda Strain Makeup…another UNBELIEVABLE woman… Cancer survivor, creator of her own makeup range and the organiser of LOOK GOOD, FEEL BETTER workshops for Cancer patients and survivors.

Infinite Beauty Aesthetics… Majella is a world of information on all things skincare. This is one HARD WORKING woman, she is providing her clinics all over the north west of the country and will be on hand to answer any concerns you may have.

NorthWest BioKinesiology, Laura will be on hand on the day to provide her knowlege, with both a nursing and nutritional background and education, Laura can chat to you about any concerns you may have, stress management and gut health will be our top topics of the day !!

Our day wouldn’t be complete with the one and only Me, You Plus 4.. our fave gal Tanya will be hosting our fashion show on the day with fashions from McElhinneys. We are lucky our busy mum of four and jet setting crew member is here to share her unreal styling tips for women of all shapes !!!

BUT I can’t give it all away yet… wait until you meet some of our fabulous MODELS!!!

The day would not be complete without hair and makeup demo from myself… our demos will be about bringing out the best and utilising your own features !!!!
