Sculpted by Aimee’s HydraLip is put to the test

Women over 30, 40, 50 and beyond, whilst we may be very much young at heart, the physical signs of getting older are making an appearance.

As collagen production takes a nosedive, wrinkles and fine lines form (sorry for the reminder ladies!). Lips too, are impacted, and they start to thin as we grow older – when exactly thinning begins and the extent to which occurs, varies from person to person.

To counteract this and create the illusion of a more voluminous luscious pout, opt for a gloss or lipstick with a sheen. A fantastic all-rounder that I recently discovered is Sculpted By Aimee’s HydraLip.

The lipstick can be worn on its own for a more lowkey daytime look, or used along with lipliner for a more defined look. It’s formulated with SPF25 and comes in six shades – Peach, Berry, Rose, Blush, Mauve, and Bronze.

I tried Blush, Mauve and Bronze, and teamed Blush with my usual liner, Note’s Nude Rose 07, for a more solid colour. I’m a fan of Note’s Ultra Rich Color Lip Pencils because they deliver a sharp, exact line, which you don’t get from some of the softer pencils out there.

Infused with jojoba seed oil, Aimee Connolly’s versatile lippy feels gorgeous on, the texture and consistency is more like a creamy balm than a lipstick.

I loved how smooth and hydrated my lips felt after using it, and this sensation lasted after the product was worn or rubbed off. The finish is glossy, without being tacky or gloopy.

HydraLip is available locally from various outlets including Magees Pharmacy (€17), Inish Pharmacy (€18), and Allcare/Cara Pharmacy (€17), and online at www.sculptedbyaimee.com
