It was a typical Donegal hooley at Harvey’s Point when Donegal ambassador, hotelier and broadcaster Noel Cunningham celebrated his 70th birthday!
Noel who doesn’t do things by half, was joined by 300 guests for a gala dinner and superb entertainment from The Donegal Tenors on Saturday night. Vladimir Jablokov and The Minor Tones entertained the guests from all over Ireland and abroad.
Family and friends including many from the world of showbiz joined the glamorous party in the Lakeside ballroom. Guests included Former President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin, the British Ambassador to Ireland Paul Johnston and his wife Nicola, Pat The Cope Gallagher and his wife Anne.
Gabrielle McMonagle, Mandy and Ger Maher, Chef Brian Mc Dermott and his wife Brenda, Mary Kennedy, Grainne Seoige and Leon Jordaan, Marty and Maria Whelan, Alan Hughes, Norma Smurfit, Jacky Lavin and Bill Cullen, Richard Curran, to name but a few, sang and danced into the wee hours.
Other birthday messages came in via video link from Daniel O’Donnell who is on tour, Neven Maguire who is on a New York trip and Dáithí Ó Sé.
Noel is currently a fixture on The Today Show in the afternoon on RTE1.
Noel doesn’t plan to slow down as he enters his seventh decade however, as he will still be an ambassador for Harvey’s Point, as well as keeping up his regular appearances across the national media.
