Pink and blue lights shone brightly across Letterkenny last night as the hospital joined a global wave of light for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day.

The strip of lights on the roof of the building was illuminated to remember all the precious babies who lit up our lives for such a short time.

The lights, seen across the entire town, invited bereaved parents, families and friends to pause and reflect.

By lighting up buildings all over the world, the display seeks to connect thousands of families and to let them know that they are not alone. Families joined at home too by lighting a candle in memory of the baby or babies they have lost through miscarriage, stillbirth or in the neonatal period.
