Sligo Park Hotel is hosting a Wedding Open Day later this month with couples given the chance to see all the venue has to offer ahead of the busy summer season.

The open day runs from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 18, with couples receiving canapés and drinks on arrival before joining a member of the hotel’s wedding team for a tour of the hotel facilities, which now includes a luxurious new Italian-designed pergola.

The Sligo Park Suite will be fully dressed for a magical wedding day, giving couples a clear vision of what they can expect on their big day.

Sligo Park Hotel Wedding Co-ordinator Orla Seery says: “We’re delighted to be hosting our Wedding Open Day on June 18 as it gives people a chance to see why Sligo Park Hotel is one of the region’s best wedding venues.

“The beautifully appointed Sligo Park Suite will be fully dressed as it would be on a couple’s wedding day, showcasing its floor-to-ceiling windows and the airy spaciousness that allows us to cater to up to 220 guests.

“My advice to couples is to book their appointment for the Wedding Open Day in advance to ensure they don’t miss this opportunity to see the hotel in its full wedding day splendour.”

A finalist in the Connaught Hotel Venue of the Year category in the 2022/23 Weddings Online Awards, Sligo Park Hotel features 136 bedrooms, state-of-the-art leisure facilities, and perfectly manicured gardens which combine with Sligo’s celebrated scenery to provide a spectacular backdrop for wedding photography.

A range of wedding packages are on offer, including an all-inclusive package, a new winter wedding package, as well as more bespoke options.

The hotel last month celebrated being named in the Trip Advisor top 25 hotels in Ireland, according to travellers, in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards 2023. It is the second successive year that the hotel earned its place among Ireland’s best hotels after receiving a “high volume of excellent reviews” from users of the travel website over the past 12 months.

Sligo Park Hotel General Manager Gerard Moore believes the hotel’s position at No22 in the top 25 is recognition of Lee Hotel Group’s multi-million-euro investment in its facilities. He pointed to the addition of the new Italian-made pergola as an example of the hotel’s commitment to enhancing its offering.

“We have invested more than €5m in our facilities in recent years, and the work is still ongoing. Last month, we added an Italian-designed pergola with a fully retractable motorised fabric roof, sliding glass walls and infra-red heating, making it comfortable for guests in either the depths of winter or the height of summer.

“The pergola is where wedding guests will be greeted as they arrive at the hotel, and we look forward to seeing our guests and residents enjoying spending time there.”
