Atlantic Technological University (ATU)’s Department of Design and Creative Media is delighted to announce the annual exhibition of students’ work from art, design, film, and fashion undergraduate programmes.
The graduate showcase launches at an open evening in Letterkenny this Thursday 8th June from 5.45pm and will run until Friday 11 June. This vibrant and dynamic event serves as a platform for the students to exhibit their creativity and innovation to the public.
Several hundred guests are expected to attend the exhibition which will include a fashion show & exhibition, film screenings, animation portfolios and graphic & UX design displays.
This year has been another successful year for the Fashion with Promotion students at ATU Donegal, where the focus is firmly on sustainability.
Many of the 4th year students worked with Hanna Hats this year to rework their deadstock fabric into their final collections. The second-year fashion students worked with St Vincent DePaul and Letterkenny Tidy Towns to highlight how preloved garments could be re-worked and upcycled into desirable fashion. The third and fourth years worked with Junk Kouture and the engineering department, Michael Tinney and fashion staff to design and create 16 striking trophies for their first world final held in Abu Dhabi in January. McElhinney’s Stores Ballybofey held mock buyer interviews with the third year students to advise on making their collections customer ready.
Across all programmes in the Department of Design & Creative Media, the hard-working students, supported by a team of dedicated staff have created a diverse body of wonderfully creative outcomes which you can view this Thursday. All are welcome to the launch event at the Letterkenny campus from 5.45pm.
