Young businesswoman Abbie Long is proud to present her newly revamped cafe, The Busy Bee, this Wednesday.
The cafe, located on Main Street Ballybofey, is a haven of sweet treats and delicious bites.
From tomorrow 5th April, it will be an even sweeter dining experience as they unveil new interiors, a new chef and a new menu!
The bistro is run by ambitious 20-year-old Abbie from Castlefinn. Abbie ran the Busy Bee coffee trailer from Clady Bridge during Covid times, but decided to give her business a permanent home in August 2022. The bistro is now located in the McElhinneys car park beside Costcutter.
Abbie’s impressive baking skills clearly run in the family, as her mum Wendy is the owner of the Millstone Cookery School in Lifford.
This week the bistro is introducing award-winning chef Daniel Mullarkey to the team.
Daniel, from Killybegs, is a two-time winner of the A Passion to Inspire Award at A Taste of Donegal Food Festival. He’ll be adding his flair to the breakfast and lunch dishes such as his Avocado Special and Seafood Chowder.
As far as the sweet treats go, Abbie looks after the baking and her carrot cake and coffee cake are often sell-out favourites. The former Royal & Prior student may be young, but she has built up a lot of business experience over the past two years.
“It’s been a big learning journey but I have good staff and I have built up great relationships with my regular customers,” Abbie said.
“We never had a proper grand opening last August, so this Wednesday we’ll be looking forward to a celebration with some giveaways and surprises for customers.”
Abbie and her team are excited to welcome back old and new customers alike with a reopening party this Wednesday, 5th April. Enjoy lots of Easter promotions running all weekend and the unveiling of the summer menu!
The bistro will open on Sundays from 16th April and a new brunch menu is on the way soon.
