A creative Letterkenny girl scooped a top award at the very special LauraLynn Oscars this weekend.
Kalize McGuigan, aged nine, won the LauraLynn Oscar for Best Adventure Movie for her film ‘Spy Sisters’. The popular local girl, who lives with a complex health condition, is one of four LauraLynn children to be honoured at the event at the Odeon Charlestown on Saturday.
Kalize was joined on the red carpet by her sister Sophie, 5, for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Oscars is a ‘digital storytelling’ children’s hospice initiative that ultimately provides children with life-limiting conditions and their families a platform to create their own unique story.
Kalize starred in her movie titled Spy Sisters alongside her sister Sophie and wider family. They were given VIP treatment at Glenveagh Castle where they shot their award winning movie.
Michelle Harnett, Play Therapist at LauraLynn, leads out on the project, she says; “The Oscars project allows the whole family to laugh and play offering some respite from the responsibility of caring for a sick child.’’
Congratulations Kalize!
