Letterkenny student Kirsty O’Donnell has proudly donated €2252.60 to the Little Angels Special School.

The funds were raised from Kirsty’s recent summer charity events as Miss Donegal.

Kirsty, a nursing student at LYIT, was one of three young women to represent Donegal in the Miss Ireland competition earlier this month. As part of their campaign, the contestants undertook charity work for causes close to their hearts.

Kirsty recently met with Little Angels Principal Ailbhe Dunne and pupils to present her donation, along with some play dolls kindly donated by Donegal-based Lottie Dolls.

“All the charity events I had during the summer wouldn’t have been possible without all the donators and kind local businesses who helped hold the events!,” Kirsty said.

“A special thanks to Kelly’s Centra Mountain top, The Big Scoop and Sip&Slice. All 3 businesses allowed me to use their premises to help raise funds for Little Angels Special School. Thank you to every business in Letterkenny who donated prizes for the raffle the winners were extremely happy with such tremendous prizes.

Kirsty added: “A special thank you to ESB who kindly donated a cheque worth €300 to the school. These funds will definitely be put to good use in the school for buying equipment, toys and essentials. ESB were so willing to donate to the school as they recognized the hard work the school does to give their pupils the best education and learning opportunities.

“A big thank you to everyone who came along to my charity events, supported and donated. It wouldn’t have been possible without you all and I am forever grateful for that.”
