Donegal’s Mask Your Face brand is expanding into new territories with new collections for 2021.
It began as a side project of three creative Letterkenny sisters – Anna, Lisa and Molly Kennedy – but now, Mask Your Face is helping many of us step out in style during the pandemic.
The brand was born out of necessity, but the popular designs, all handmade in Donegal are a sustainable solution sought by many.
This month the sisters have added over 20 new cotton-based masks to their collection, as well as pet accessories, neck tubes and a homeware range.
With love hearts for Valentine’s day and bursts of marbling colours, Mask Your Face has a print for everyone. Functional, machine washable, and comfortable, the three layered pieces offer great protection for both indoors and outdoors. Prices start from €7.
The brand’s new pet accessory drop is full of character. The Kennedys have created a cotton bandana that easily slides over the collar of your pet.
“We were so excited to launch this – the dogs look super cute wearing the bandanas!,” they said.
The sisters who are all studying at the moment, work the business around their college work and online lessons.
Having launched before masks were made mandatory, did they ever imagine that the business would grow and expand to this level?
Lisa tells Donegal Woman: “No, we definitely did not. It is absolutely mad to think about where we are now! The funny thing is, when we first started Mask Your Face, we never planned for anything. It all just came together in stages – we are super lucky in that sense, that it did all fall into place.
“When we initially began the Instagram page we never thought we would soon have a website up and running! I think that’s when it really took off and we got a bit more wind under our wings. We could never have imagined it – it truly was just the right place, right time (and right product).”
Their latest covering is the Neck Tube, busting with colour to keep keep you super cosy.
The tubular design is easy to pop over your head and drape to the shape and comfort of your neck. A ‘Sherpa Fleece Neck Tube’ which is cosy fleece-lined is one of the favourites. Matching face masks available too. Priced at €10.
Mo.Li.An is the sisters’ candle and diffuser range. The home accessories fficially dropped in early December 2020. The scent and the candle wax (a secret blend) are carefully blended by hand and poured by hand. Candles priced at €18. Diffusers €20.
