Only a wee while to wait now!

Excitement for Derry Girls season two almost peaked today after a new trailer release from Channel 4.

The hit comedy set in 1990s Derry is expected to be back on our screens this March, according to writer Lisa McGee.

We can rest assured that all our favourite characters are back. The new trailer depicts Erin and her friends, scary Granda Joe, the dry-witted Sister Michael, sexy Father Peter and a few new faces all getting up no good.

“Season two is definitely bigger and braver,” Saoirse-Monica Jackson, who plays Erin, told Radio Times.

We don’t know much about plotlines just yet, but what we can tell from the sneak peek is that school, boys and Protestants are all set to keep the Derry girls busy this season.

The very first episode of Derry Girls was such a hit that Channel 4 commissioned a second season right away. Season one broke records as the biggest series ever in Northern Ireland since modern records began in 2002.
