Met Éireann has issued a yellow rainfall warning for Donegal, which is set to kick in at noon.

Several other countries have also been issued a yellow warning, including; Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare and North Tipperary.

The heavy rain is forecast to begin at 12 pm today and last until 4 pm tomorrow.

Met Éireann says:

“Warm, humid conditions expected to develop through Sunday, lasting into the early days of next week, will bring spells of heavy rain leading to potential accumulations of 30 to 50mm, with highest totals in the mountains.”

The warning was issued due to the tail end of Hurricane Gert heading towards Ireland.

Met Éireann also forecast that it will be slightly muggy in Donegal over the next few days, with temperatures of 16 degrees today and 17 tomorrow.
