The Donegal Women in Business Network are back for 2017, with a new action plan and a new event to welcome all members.

The Donegal Women in Business Network was created to support all women who work in business – whether you are running your own company, working for a firm or organisation, or thinking of starting an enterprise. Every female with an interest in business is welcome to join and meet like-minded women.

The network offers an open, inclusive organisation that welcomes women from both the public and private sector, entrepreneurs and employees, professionals and artists in all business and industry areas.

The network is led by a voluntary committee who all pull together to unite every woman in Donegal and speak with a united voice. They are delighted to have the support of the Local Enterprise Office Donegal, who continue to encourage and aid the growth of the network and entrepreneurs across the county. DWBN will also be working with The Base in Stranorlar and the CoLab Business Development Centre in Letterkenny to offer resources to its members.

New PRO Evelyn Mc Glynn said that 2017 is going to be very exciting for the network. “We are hoping to grow our membership numbers by 30-50% this year. Our first event will be an excellent opportunity to stand up and talk about issues, make social connections and get support for growing your business. There is a huge amount of camaraderie among the members, so this is an event not to be missed.”

The first social networking event of the year for Donegal Women in Business Network takes place in Station House Hotel this Thursday, January 26th 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Here’s what you need to know about the networking event on Thursday night:

  • You do not have to be a member to attend on the night, you don’t even have to be in business, just have an interest in business in the county. It’s social, its relaxed, warm and welcoming and the current members know it works for their business, as they help, support and buy from other members!
  • You can sign up to join the network on the night for only €40 for the year’s membership and whatever stage you are at in your business journey they promise it will be the best money you spend this year!
  • Deirdre McGlone

You will get the opportunity to meet all the DWBN committee on the night, women just like you. The key address will be given by the new president of the network, Deirdre McGlone, Harvey’s Point Donegal, Donegal Person of The Year 2016.

  • You do not have to stand up and talk on the night…but you will have the opportunity to do so if you want. To give a very brief outline of who you are, what you do and how you or your business can benefit other members and grow your business! Also you will have the opportunity to network in the room, hand out your business information and learn more about business in general in the county.

The cost on the night is €10…normally the DWBN events are FREE but this one includes a light bite on the night.

As a member, you will get the opportunity to take part in future events that The Donegal Women in Business Network run… such as speaking at one of our monthly networking events, the opportunity to deliver a workshop or have a voice on how business in the county works for women.
