Twin Towns boxer Ciara Anderson comes from a famous boxing family – and the LYIT student is aiming to win her third Irish title this weekend.
The 18-year-old is a grand-daughter of former Irish Olympian Brian Anderson senior from Ballybofey, who punched for Ireland at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Ciara is a chip off the old block. Already a two-time Irish champion, she faces Shannon Sweeney from St Anne’s in the Irish Under-22 semi-final on Friday night at the National Stadium.

Canal’s Chloe Fleck awaits the winner in Saturday’s final.
In 2014, Ciara won the Youth 1 46kgs final when she defeated Lauren Stewart from Togher and in 2015 she won the Youth 2 title at 46kgs by way of a walkover win.
