Last night we had a sneak preview of the new Century Complex, and it’s a very sleek setup altogether.
The building, located right beside Century Cinemas, is going to be a thriving hub for kids and adults once it all opens this weekend. Here are the five top things we think will draw in the crowds:
The new restaurant, the Backstage Bar & Grill is a great space to wine and dine before a movie or to relax whilst the children experience Century Play. The menu contains sharing plates, burgers, steaks and salads. Each burger is named after a movie – the spicy “Gladiator” sounds like a good challenge. Backstage is officially opening today, Tuesday 29th November.
The film set-up
As you might expect, they have gone with a movie theme here. There are signs like Green Room and Casting Couch on table areas around Backstage. The bathrooms are the VIP Dressing Rooms – which is misleadingly fancy!
Century Play is the third largest play area of its kind in Ireland. We can only image how much fun kids will have here running around the aerial runways, 4m drop racing slides, rope bridges, spiral slides and an arcade area.
There are six themed kids’ private party houses upstairs in the complex. Each little hut is painted with characters to keep any boy or girl happy. Parents will be happy that Frozen fans, Disney addicts and Paw Patrol lovers are all catered for. Century Ice will also be opening seasonally from December to February.
And the fun isn’t only for kids…
Adults can also party at Backstage, with a fully stocked bar preparing cocktails and two exclusive seating areas perfectly made for big groups. We can imagine that this restaurant could be a cosy destination for pre-cinema dates or somewhere to gather with friends.
