Social media – we can love it or loathe it, but Taralouise McCaughey loves to take social struggles off your hands.

The Bundoran based consultant is more in-demand than ever with her media agency – ZINC.

Just like the nutrient Zinc, Taralouse helps businesses grow and strengthen. A lot of business owners like to hand over their entire pages and leave the posting to the expert. For that, Taralouise has an all-female team of creatives –  including a photographer, videographer, web designer and ad manager – to get your branding and audience reach just right.

The pandemic and restrictions have put an urgency on ‘getting online’, and Taralouise has been only too happy to help businesses.

“People knew online was starting to take over, and now it’s the only thing that is keeping a lot of businesses going.

“I could see some people were resting on their bricks and mortar until being online was their only choice,” Taralouise says.

To Taralouise, social media isn’t a chore, it’s a passion. Originally from The Wirral, Merseyside, she moved to Bundoran in 2008. Now married with three young children, she has never looked back.

Taralouise has worked in marketing and events, including every Sea Sessions Festival, since 2008. She ran her own business, Bundoran Stag & Hens until closing in 2016 and in 2018 she relaunched with ZINC, focusing on providing highly skilled services with a focus on personality.

She explains: “My marketing strategy is caring, in investing in your business. When you become my client, your business goals become mine.

“I will research your industry, research your hashtags, help you find your core message, create your content and make sure the right people are seeing it.”

If that sounds like a handful, there’s more!

There has been a clear move towards supporting local, shopping local online and click & collect, but a lot of businesses need the support to stand out from the crowd and build an authentic connection with customers.

The secret, Taralouise says, is sharing some personality.

“I encourage local businesses to make their content as personal as possible, without crossing the boundaries. With Amazon and the big names, you don’t get that face or the name behind the brand.

“People buy from people, I think it’s very important to show that as much as you can. And there are ways around it if you do not want to talk on video, I can help with that.”

The pandemic has also changed Taralouise’s business. Working remotely enables her to take on clients from anywhere in the world, while she is also adjusting services to meet demand for web design, 1-2-1 or team training.

“It is great to see people investing in the online side of their business. I see it as the best way to ride out this storm. It’s an aspect that can safeguard your businesses future. Online, you can hit a wider target audience all over the world,” she says.
