After a long break away from the beauty salon, many of us are looking forward to being preened and pampered again.

It’s important that we feel safe on our next visit. It’s vitally important that we do what we can to keep our beauty therapists and other clients safe too.

This week I visited DW’s Beauty columnist Lynda Strain at her beauty lounge and studio in Kerrykeel.

Lynda’s Hollywood inspired salon is a beauty lovers’ dream. The spacious studio is spotlessly clean and easy for Lynda to manage the new guidelines due to her working on her own.

Lynda offers a wide range of services including makeup, waxing, spa pedicures, gel nails, manicures, eyelash tinting and makeup lessons.

She has an extensive list of hygiene steps she will follow during each treatment. For clients, there won’t be much to think about once you come in the door. Treatments will still be enjoyable and a luxurious self-care treat.

You can also see the Lynda Strain Makeup products in person and avail of free colour matching – with all hygiene practices followed.

Check out this tour of Lynda’s salon for a guide to her safety measures:

As a client, what should we prepare for?

Be prepared to answer COVID-19 screening questions before booking.

With no waiting area in many salons, clients should wait in their cars outside until they are called in for their treatments.

A sanitation station will greet you on entry, and you should sanitise your hands and apply a face mask and gloves, if you have not already brought your own face covering.

A makeup artist or beauty therapist such as Lynda will look after the cleaning and sanitising of all workstations, chairs and beds and surroundings after every service.

Lynda is also using disposable equipment, such as makeup applicators, spatulas, files and buffers and all bottles and testers are cleaned between clients.

Contactless payment is encouraged after your treatment.

Lynda is now taking bookings for Communion and Confirmation makeup in the coming months and will be offering makeup, tan and nail packages for any special occasion.

Call Lynda on 0044 7912 089179 or message her on Facebook or Instagram for bookings or any inquiries.

Lynda was also busy during lockdown as she switched her focus to working on her makeup line and her popular online store. She also launched an exciting new campaign showcasing star products from LyndaStrainMakeup.com, check it out below:
