The Finn Valley community is in deep mourning following the heartbreaking passing of a beautiful young mother and her unborn baby.

Tributes have poured out for Marsha Mc Connell (née Murphy) of Carrick, Liscooley, Castlefin, who passed away peacefully on Thursday last.

Marsha’s family are also sadly grieving the loss of her unborn baby, Bella.

The Funeral Mass for Marsha will take place on Sunday, July 5th, at 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Castlefin.

A much-loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and sportswoman, Marsha loved football and was a key player in the formation of the Robert Emmets ladies. Her skills and dedication were rewarded with a call up to the Donegal Ladies.

She has been described by friends as a friendly and outgoing young woman who was beautiful inside and out.

“Marsha was always the life and soul of the teams she played in and indeed anytime she was in company with anyone,” said a tribute from the Robert Emmets club.

“Marsha always had time for everyone and always a smile to go along with it.”

She is survived by her husband Rory McConnell, baby son Noah, parents Bernadette and John, and brothers Declan, Ted and Shaun-Paul.

The Funeral Mass will be streamed live on the St. Mary’s YouTube channel and also on the Parish of Urney and Castlefinn Facebook page.
