DW Editor Rachel reviews the Back Massage treatments now available at Patrick Gildea Hairdressing Letterkenny.

‘I really regret getting that massage’ – said no one ever!

Who doesn’t love that floaty, happy feeling you get when leaving a treatment?

We all love a bit of pampering, but there are so many more benefits to a massage that last long after you’ve left the treatment room.

Other than the soothing of muscle tension, you can’t beat getting better sleep, reduced stress and happy endorphin release.

That’s why I was so eager to see what the back massages are like in Allure at Patrick Gildea Hairdressing Letterkenny.

Letterkenny people are lucky to have this beauty salon – where you can get relaxing back massages and full body massages in the heart of the town. It’s so easy to pop in for a bit of self-care.

The luxurious Allure treatment room is dedicated to skincare, makeup and beauty treatments. The Allure team always use premium products and talk to guests before they get to work, which gives you the power to get the most out of your treatment.

Patrick Gildea Hairdressing Therapist Arlene Cassidy

Before my relaxing deep tissue back massage, therapist Arlene Cassidy talked to me about where I’d like to focus on. From hunching over a desk and gym soreness, I always like to concentrate on the shoulders and tight knots.

Arlene did just that – giving me a brilliant massage with a mix of lightness and deep pressure on tighter areas. She even used some hot stones to really get rid of those annoying knots.

I was amazed at how long the half hour lasted. It was just the right amount of time you need to unwind and enjoy it. It’s very easy to forget about the real world outside when you’re panned out getting pampered.

Allure at Patrick Gildea use Dermalogica massage oils, and I’d be very tempted to add on the mini Dermalogica facial the next time I go back, for an extra treat.

After getting this midweek massage, I left feeling so much more refreshed and ready to take on the next few days. Arlene recommends that we should all get a massage every two months, which is something I’m happy to hear!

Despite the quality of treatments and the excellent skills of the team, Allure massages are very reasonably priced.

A Back Massage is only €30, a Full Body Massage (1 hour) is €60 and Back Massage + Mini Facial is €45. So it’s well-priced for a gift or a treat for yourself.
