Rachel from DonegalWoman.ie had a high-end makeup makeover with Shiseido cosmetics this week. Here's how top MUA Danielle Mahon did it:

Multi award-winning Irish makeup artist Danielle Mahon visited Donegal on Thursday for an exclusive event at McElhinneys. The all-new McElhinneys beauty hall was both a party venue and a classroom on International Women’s Day as up to 40 guests arrived to learn from the expert.

As brand ambassador for Shiseido, Danielle led a skincare and makeup masterclass entirely based on the premium Japanese brand. I was delighted to be the model for the evening and get a fresh makeover after a busy day.

“In my opinion, nothing compares to Shiseido skincare,” Danielle said. Her very good friend Gok Wan loves the brand too, and Danielle delivers Shiseido-centric tutorials during their Fashion & Beauty Collective Roadshows.

Danielle applied a simple and refined look for this McElhinneys masterclass, which allowed her to focus on the basics of makeup application and skincare.

She is a great advocate for multi-use products and had many tips for using makeup in alternative ways. Her demo used bronzer on the eyelids and a pop of lip rouge on the cheeks.

‘Five products, seven minutes’ is a quick everyday formula that Danielle follows, and this demo wasn’t too far off that, even though the result was high-impact.

Danielle had an expert answer to every question from the audience and had plenty of unique tips such as how to find the right angle to begin bronzing and how to get the perfect eyeliner flick.

Danielle applied a basic eye look with a fresh coral base, light bronze crease and a flawless winged gel liner. For the face, the satin-finish Synchro Skin Lasting Foundation combined with the impressive Sheer Eye Zone concealer created a bright and healthy glow.

A soft nude lip (Hushed Tones (RD713) and subtle highlight completed the look, and I was delighted with the end result, that is ideal for spring.

Guests at the Masterclass went home with countless tips and generous goody bags to kick-start their Shiseido skincare routine. With so much makeup inspiration to try out, there’s sure to be high demand at the Shiseido counter in the weeks to come!
