We're at the beginning of the Christmas season, but the surprise homecoming videos have only just begun...

One Donegal mammy was overcome with happy tears when her daughter came home from America much earlier than planned – and the video is one that’s sure to make you smile.

Letterkenny mother Rosemary Sweeney definitely wasn’t ready for the return of her daughter Natalie from the states this week. Natalie had been living in Chicago for a full year and hadn’t been home since she moved away. She told Rosemary that she would be home on December 17th, choosing to surprise her with an early Christmas present yesterday.

Natalie enlisted her sisters Karlie and Amy to help her keep the big secret of her arrival. However, their granny Katie McFadden was almost as shocked as Rosemary was, who you can see by the fireplace.

Natalie was welcomed home to Donegal with a lot of hugs, tears and laughter – but she tells Donegal Woman it took a good ten minutes for her mum to stop crying!
