A traditional Donegal bar and restaurant had a night for the books when world-famous actor Jamie Dornan stopped by.

Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan revisited his favourite bar in the Donegal village of Glen in Carrigart last night during his golfing weekend in the county.

Staff of the Olde Glen Bar and Restaurant warmly welcomed back their old friend and the female staff were overjoyed to get a photo.

Aengus Haughey, owner of the Olde Glen, said: “a great night was had by all.”

Cormac Walsh tells Donegal Woman: “Jamie and his friends came in for a bite to eat. He comes every year now. They were just after some golfing at Portsalon.”

Cormac was very casual looking back on the visit, but it was clearly the girls of the Glen who were more excited.

“I just said hello. He’s very famous so it was nice to see him,” Cormac said.

After dining in the Glen restaurant, which prides itself on having great locally-sourced food, Jamie enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. They weren’t exactly quiet ones though, as punters were all eager to get a photo and meet the A-List celeb.

Jamie had the craic with locals and even gave his input on the biggest talked-about boxing match happening tonight in Vegas. When asked for his prediction on McGregor v Mayweather, Jamie put his faith in the Irishman. “Okay, McGregor first round,” he said.

The Olde Glen Bar is a personal favourite of Dornan’s who has spoken of his love of the pub before. Last year, Jamie told Donegal presenter Ciara Doherty that the Glen Bar was “maybe the best bar in the world.”

The global celebrity is here in Donegal enjoying a Bank Holiday golfing weekend, and added a star quality to the Portsalon Mini Open yesterday. Golfers and fans of the actor will be keeping an eye out for Jamie over the next few days, eager to meet Mr Grey.
