Style columnist Breid McDaid shares her top picks for Valentine's/Galentine's Day!

Hey all,

I don’t know about you but I have to say I’m loving all the pretty blush pink tones this holiday has brought our way. From textures such as lace, chiffon and satin style tops, to tapered trousers and pleated skirts, we are just spoiled for choice regards date night options. And ladies, Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples.

It can be a great excuse to plan a night out with the girls, turn up the glam factor and make it a Galentine’s dinner, followed by cocktails kind of evening. Sure why not? Any excuse!

Although blush pink was one of the A/W colours that dominated the catwalk and high-street alike, it has shown no intention of moving aside to let the newly forecasted fuchsia shade impact alone.

Paired with bright red tones, this colour palette can make a striking, high fashion statement.

As this combination is not one for the faint hearted, why not opt to incorporate this look with the addition of particular accessories, a two-toned satchel or statement earring.

I’m also loving the revolution of the ‘power suit’. A sharp, well tailored two piece exudes confidence and depending on the style/colour, can be worn a multitude of different ways. Speaking of pink, Penney’s have a fabulous two piece option available, no doubt flying off the shelves as we speak. Glammed up with heels or dressed down with trainers, it’s an eye-catching look whichever one you choose.

And finally, the accessories. Who doesn’t love a little pop of pink at some point, to give that fun, flirty twist to an outfit, especially around this time of year. Choose from chic mini satchels to textured fringe heels, I’ve included a few different options below.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read. I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s weekend, whatever your plans may be.
