Mums from across the north west have kindly donated special teddies and essential items to the Western Trust to help babies and children in hospital.

The Derry and Raphoe Mothers’ Union worked together recently to create a range of items for use in various wards across Altnagelvin Hospital, Londonderry and Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex.

The generous donation included Trauma Teddies, which are given to children attending the ED Department in Altnagelvin Hospital or Urgent Care and Treatment Centre at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex to offer comfort in a new environment and are the child’s to keep afterwards.

The Children’s Ward at Altnagelvin Hospital also received colouring books, pencils and crayons for their young patients. Elective Procedure Unit at Altnagelvin received breast drainage bags. Neo Natal Ward received handmade knitted blankets and cot sheets as well as hats and cardigans for premature babies.
