North west web and digital marketer Patricia Greene shares her business journey, lessons learned and motivations.

Patricia Greene from Derry is the guru every online businesswoman would love to have by their side.

As founder of TheWebClub.ie, she provides a unique support system for women in business to empower their online presence.

Patricia will be sharing her knowledge on how to maximise your business online to get more leads and profit at the upcoming Women’s Inspire Network seminar. Set in Harvey’s Point on 10th April 2019, the event will be a great mix of learning, inspiration and networking for women all over Ireland.

Before her appearance at the event, Patricia Greene told us her business story, from a family start-up to becoming a web development specialist.

My business The Web Club helps women in business to succeed online. I do this through developing one-to-one digital marketing strategies, workshops, website development & care packages and mentoring support.

How I got to where I am today

I have been in business for 20 years through Nolka Web & Digital Marketing. I developed the business with my husband Kevin, starting out doing website and graphic design, and evolving to a Web & Digital Marketing consultancy.

It was hard work – I brought up my 3 children while running the business, juggling running kids to school, managing a team of 5 designers, and local community activities etc!

Sometimes I wonder how I did it all, and really do admire young mums or those with family commitments who are also running their own business, it can be exhilarating and exhausting at the same time!

Having worked with small business owners and being involved with local women’s networks, I decided to develop the Web Club specifically to support females to develop sustainable online marketing strategies, and end the frustration of not getting enough sales and enquiries through their websites.

The Web Club is a space for women who really want to succeed and grow their business, so that they earn more income and sustain a better quality life for themselves and their families. I am passionate about supporting women to reach goals they once never thought possible!

The most valuable things I have learned about business over the years:

Value your time and don’t underprice your services.
Get support when you need it.
Believe in yourself and always have a close circle of positive people.

My business network:

Although I have many avenues of support, my number 1 supporter is my husband Kevin, who has supported and encouraged me to develop The Web Club. He has been patient, knowledgeable and inspiring and continues to be a pillar of support.

We experienced a tough time during the recession about 10 years ago, so I started to look outside to see what support there was for me stay motivated and keep going. I became involved in the Derry based business network Women in Enterprise and through this grew a great network of support, developing lifelong friends and great colleagues. I realised how important it is for women in business to reach out and seek support, and to be there for others when they need it.

I believe most women thrive on feeling supported, encouraged and inspired. This is why networks such as the Women’s Inspire Network, Donegal Women in Business and Women in Enterprise are an invaluable resource and can actually help make the difference to your business being a great success!

The most rewarding thing about my work:

Supporting women to maximise their business online, and increase their income, no matter the size of their business, is hugely rewarding.

Seeing my clients become excited about their business again, bringing them from “haven’t got a clue what to do” to having clear focus, direction and a simple plan they can stick to in order to get more customers online and profit in their pockets!

Who or what inspires me to succeed:

My vision of having more quality free time with my family, and supporting them to realise their potential inspires me to succeed. Plus I read and listen to podcasts which motivate me, from business mentors to spiritual leaders!
