The artwork of a talented Letterkenny teen will soon be seen on shopping bags all over Ireland. 

Laura Bonar has bagged a winning place in this year’s Aldi Community Games Art Competition.

The 14-year-old artist has won the chance to have her art featured on shopping bags which will be sold in all 132 Aldi stores nationwide.

The competition was held to celebrate Aldi as the title sponsor of Community Games. Aldi encouraged talented young artists from ages 6-16 to draw or paint what Aldi Community Games meant to them.

Laura was the winner of the 11-16 year old category, and will see her winning artwork displayed on one side of the Aldi shopping bag, with the other side featuring the winner of the 6-10 category.

Laura Bonar was presented with her winning work at a special event in Aldi Ramelton Road, Letterkenny. She was congratulated by Lee McBride, Deputy Store Manager at Aldi Ramelton Road, Letterkenny,  Gerry Davenport, President of Aldi Community Games and Bernie Brennan, Letterkenny Community Games.
