The adventures of Robin Hood and his Merry Men will be played out in a not-to-be-missed family show next week.

Chapterhouse Theatre are set to present an exciting summer theatre staging of Robin Hood and his Merry Men at Oakfield Park. 

The open-air event takes place in the gardens of Oakfield Park outside Raphoe on Thursday, 26th July at 7pm and promises to be a great evening’s entertainment for all the family.

Adapted by award winning writer Laura Turner, this brand-new version of Robin’s notorious story is brought to life with traditional sword play, song, music, dance and stunning medieval costumes.

“Our parklands and gardens provide the perfect backdrop for the story of Robin Hood and his Merry Men to unfold and it promises to be great evening for young and old.”

Robin Hood and his Merry Men starts at 7pm with doors open from 6pm. Early arrival is advised, and visitors are asked to bring their own rugs or low-backed seating.

Buffers Garden Restaurant in Oakfield Park will open late so visitors can enjoy a delicious meal before the performance.

There will also be light refreshments (tea / coffee) available to purchase beside the performance area and Oakfield Park trains will be running free of charge from 6pm to take visitors to and from the open-air event.

Meanwhile, Oakfield Park has also just launched details of its new two-day family festival, Oakfest.

Taking place on the 25th and 26th August, Oakfest boasts a stellar line-up with The 4 of Us headlining on Saturday and Hermitage Green headlining Sunday.
