'The world is asking if Donegal will make history again tomorrow by voting Yes for every Donegal woman and girl.'

Donegal Together for Yes campaigners say they ‘have a good feeling’ that there will be a Yes vote from the county in tomorrow’s referendum.

The group has attracted international attention in recent weeks, with the Donegal Together for Yes welcoming its fifth International Media crew yesterday. Belgian station VRT followed the group on the canvass trail in the crucial final days of the referendum campaign. Earlier this month, the organisation featured in a Donegal-specific New York Times article, among others.

Spokesperson Cathie Shiels said “There’s huge interest in Donegal, both nationally and internationally. We’ve had media crews from RTÉ, The New York Times, Dutch, German and UK crews here in the last number of weeks.”

She continued “The world is watching Ireland, but particular focus is being paid to Donegal, especially in light of the historic Yes in the same-sex marriage referendum. The world is asking if Donegal will make history again tomorrow by voting Yes for every Donegal woman and girl. From the reactions we’ve been receiving from the canvass trail, have a good feeling.”
