TY mini-company 'Buideal Bake' is putting baking in a bottle for a sweet and memorable gift idea.
A Transition Year mini company from St. Columba’s College Stranorlar are making baking quick and easy with their new product launch.
Buideal Bake was set up by Siobhán Doyle, Molly Patton and Zara Cassidy to spread the joy of baking through their range of quick mixes.
The range includes a chocolate chip cookie quick mix, a brownie quick mix and funfetti cupcake quick mix. Price start at just €3.50 per mix, and the girls are also currently working on some new products.
The enterprising young businesswomen have outdone their competitors by packaging their products in reusable glass jars to make them more environmentally friendly.
Siobhan, Molly and Zara said: “Unfortunately, other quick mixes are often packaged using thermosetting plastics, more commonly known as soft plastics, which are not recyclable.
“Studies by Bord Bia show that people who don’t enjoy using quick mixes dislike the fact that they don’t know what exactly is going into their baking, but with Buidéal Bake’s product what you see is what you get. The authentic and homemade taste is maintained because our products are not highly processed.”
Buideal Bake has become popular all around Donegal – even star singer Daniel O’Donnell is singing their praises!
The girls behind the company will go on to represent their school, St. Columba’s College, Stranorlar at the county final of the Student Enterprise Programme in Letterkenny on 14th of March.
Buidéal Bake are currently running a buy 10 or more get 20% off promotion to encourage parents to buy their products as an alternative to party bags for children’s birthday parties.
“Instead of giving children disposable toys and junk food, gift them a wholesome experience,” they say.
The quick mixes would make an ideal Mother’s’ Day gift, with prices starting at just €3.50. Instead of giving flowers that will only last a week, why not give a Buideal Bake gift, so mothers and daughters can make some memories that will last a lifetime.
