Tis’ the season for Christmas Markets

Christmasfest is the winter edition of the hugely successful Off the Street Food Fest which was one of the highlights of the summer for local foodies.

Organisers Chef Chris Molloy of the Lemon Tree, Derek Walker of the Letterkenny Artisan Market and Letterkenny Bank of Ireland manager Jimmy Stafford have been working as hard as Santa’s elves to bring the idea to life. Now we’re just weeks away from the big event that is sure to bring a warm festive spirit to the town.

The Off the Street Christmas programme is packed with entertaining and inspirational demos from the best local chefs, storytellers and musicians.

Twelve local and celebrity chefs are in the line-up, so you can take a seat in the demo tent and pick up top Christmas cooking tips and delicious drinks ideas from local brewers and gin and whiskey distillers.

The chef line-up includes: Eddie Attwell, Mary McLaughlin, Brian McMonagle, Gary Mc Peake, Zack Gallagher, Christopher Molloy, My Nutrition, Bengi Conway, Mary Mc Laughlin, Garvan Walker, Paul Brady and Sharon Harkin.

Music will be provided by Callum Keaveny, Dean Maywood, Jimmy Stafford, Trudy O’Donnell, Oisin Nee, Letterkenny Pipe Band and Conor Maley.

Guaranteed guests are Santa, Mrs Claus and Elves, who will add to the merriment from their special grotto.

We like the idea of strolling around with a hot mulled wine, enjoying carols and soaking up the atmosphere! You’ll be sure to meet friendly faces as the town comes together with plenty of good cheer.

Visitors are advised to come hungry – there will be delicious street food all around. Local craftspeople will be selling unique gift ideas and Donegal producers will have wonderful packages to take home.

Letterkenny will be simply having a wonderful Christmas time soon!

Weekend tickets are just €5 and kids go free. You can secure your tickets now to skip the queues at www.offthestreetfoodfest.com
