Fashion blogger Arlene Gill set up girlyinspcorner just this summer and has already amassed a large following.
The stylish mum of three has always had an interest in fashion and has been documenting her style for over two years.
Originally from Derry, she now lives in Buncrana, Co. Donegal, where she will be at the helm of the 10th annual iCARE fashion show.
Here is Arlene’s Style Study for Donegal Woman:
1) How would you describe your personal style?
Well this was a good question I would say versatile, I don’t conform to specific styles, and I’m always open to stepping out of my comfort zone. I love mixing and matching and clashing to create different outfits with the same pieces. I have a weakness for sequins and a love of colour.
2) Who is your style icon?
The one and only Megan Ellaby she is a twenty something award winning fashion blogger from Manchester that totally captured my heart with her fashion and style.
3) What is your favourite piece of clothing?
My vintage sequin jacket from Madness in the Emporium, just so dreamy but I also have to mention my silver stiletto heeled Zara ankle boots. I love how they transform a basic outfit with just a touch of style.
4) What inspires you when choosing an outfit?
The event or occasion that it’s for, I choose items that reflect my mood, the weather, the season I also choose based on colours, pattern and structures or eras I have a love for the 80s & 90s.
5) How would you accessorise a look?
A statement bag can transform a look and update your outfit adding interest it can show your style and personality in one piece.
6) What is your most recent fashion purchase?
My slogan tee from Pop Riot in Derry it says grl pwr I’m obsessed with slogan tees I feel they can add interest to any outfit as they are a form of self expression.
7) Where do you usually shop for clothing?
Ha ha this will be long. Everywhere the usual high street favourites Primark, New Look, Topshop, Mango also online ASOS, Miss Selfridge, Zara, Stradavarius and I love the local boutiques.
8) Do you have any favourite local fashion boutiques?
Sequin Cinderella boutique in Buncrana has some beautiful pieces my favourite is my coloured animal print jumper it’s so 80s I just love it and my new faux fur coat I got in there is so lush.
Also Madness in the Emporium in Derry is a newly opened vintage store it has the coolest pieces sourced from all over the world it’s so unusual and individual I just got a gold pleated skirt its divine and I love this each item has a story behind it its defiantly worth a visit.
9) What are your wardrobe staples?
Would have to be the slogan tee again the show personality but look good and they are pretty comfortable.
Also my adidas superstars I find them so versatile that I can wear them with any outfit even a dress I couldn’t be without them And my Topshop petite skinny jeans an essential building block for any outfit. I could go on but I won’t lol
10) Do you follow trends?
Not really I like what I like depending on my mood.

Heels always I’m 5ft.

Handbags I love quirky bag especially cross body bags they are my favourite bag by far.
13) What is the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever heard?
That it doesn’t always have to match.

One of my bags either the pineapple or the eyes.

Following trends when they really didn’t work for me.
