The Irish Skin Foundation is delighted to announce the wonderful line-up for this year’s Eczema Expert Meeting which will take place on Saturday 16th September 2017 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin.

The informative meeting will run during Eczema Awareness Week and will provide people with or caring for those with eczema the knowledge and practical tips they require to manage the often misunderstood condition.

A highly common condition, eczema affects 1 in 12 adults and 1 in 5 children.

Eczema is an autoimmune condition where the skin can become itchy, inflamed and scaly. The skin may crack and weep. It is not contagious and is usually treated with steroid creams, and in extreme cases, patients are prescribed immunosuppressant drugs such as cyclosporine.

This year’s meeting will cover topics such as What is Eczema?, Latest on Current & Emerging Therapies, Genetics & the Environment as well practical tips, advice for life, and one man’s experience of living with eczema as an adult.

There will also be an opportunity to speak with exhibitors who will be showcasing both current and new products available on the market.

The Eczema Expert event is free of charge and open to everyone but they expect places to fill up quickly so make sure to book your place now through the following link:

* I attended the event last year, as I suffer from eczema and volunteer on the Eczema Council of Ireland, and found it to be very helpful. There were people of all ages in attendance, including parents of children with the condition and adults like myself. Everyone was very supportive of one another at the meeting and the talks were informative. I would highly recommend this event if any Donegal Woman readers are in Dublin on the 16th (there’s also a lot of freebies!)
