American comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has shared an adorable tribute to her wife, Portia de Rossi, on their ninth wedding anniversary.
Yesterday marked nine years since the couple tied the knot in Beverley Hills in 2008 after dating for four years.
Ellen posted a picture from their wedding day, saying “I got married 9 years ago today. Being her wife is the greatest thing I am.”
The picture has garnered 1.8 million likes, with thousands of fans wishing the couple a happy anniversary.
She also posted a video on Facebook, including cute pictures of the couple together – some of which Ellen hadn’t seen before the show!
“For many reasons I’m feeling good, there’s a smile on my face, there’s a spring in my step, and a ring on my finger!”
“I don’t know if ya’ll heard or not but I got married, it was kind of quiet,” she jested.
During the ceremony, Ellen surprised Portia by organising for singer-songwriter Joshua Radin to serenade her.
Joshua took to Instagram to share a picture he had from the day, saying “nine years ago today, these two incredible women got married and asked me to sing some of my songs to them while they were celebrating their most special day. It’s still one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. Happy anniversary.”
Portia also shared a picture of the couple and said; “We’ve been together so long that not only do we look like kids in this picture, but it was taken with a camera! Happy 9th, Thing.”
