Donegal Daily's readers have voted for their favourite carvery lunches for treating dads - the results are mouth-watering!

The votes are in and the results have been tallied. Over 1,000 readers voted for their favourite eatery to be number one on our list, and what a list it was! Here are your top ten Sunday carveries in Donegal this Father’s Day.

10.  The Station House Hotel, Letterkenny.

Located near the old Dunnes Stores on Lower Main street Letterkenny, the Station House will be running their Sunday carvery this Father’s Day from 12:30 to 3 pm.

9. SandHouse Hotel and Marine Spa, Rossnowlagh Beach, Rossnowlagh.

The Sunday Carvery at this hotel is so popular that it’s already booked out for this Father’s Day! However, if they were taking bookings the Sandhouse hotel offer a three course carvery for €25.

8. Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Railway Rd, Ballymacarry Lower, Buncrana.

 

The Gateway Hotel are offering a Father’s Day carvery from 12:30 to 4 pm on Sunday, charging €21.95 for Adults and €9.50 for kids!

7. An Grianan Hotel, Burt, Inishowen

The An Grianan are offering a Sunday carvery between 12:30 to 4 pm also. The carvery costs €22 for adults, €9.50 for kids aged five to twelve and kids under five eat free!

6. Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny.

The Radisson Blu hotel are offering a carvery lunch menu at a price of five  Courses for €23.95 or a main course only option for €12.95 per person! Dad dines for free if you book a table of 4 or more.

5.  The Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny

This Father’s Day, the Clanree hotel are offering a carvery dinner from 12:30 to 4 pm. The carvery is €24.50 for adults and €13 for the kids!

4. Jackson’s Hotel and Leisure Centre, Ballybofey.

Jackson’s Hotel are offering a Sunday lunch at €21.95 for adults and only €9.95 for the kids, and the best part? Dads eat for free!

3. Harvey’s Point Hotel, on the shores of Lough Eske outside Donegal Town.

We’ve finally made it to the final three, the bronze, silver and gold medal winners! In third place we have Harvey’s Point Hotel, who offer a carvery this weekend from 12:30 to the late afternoon. The carvery is €30 per adult and €15 per child! It’s the steepest entry on the list, but surely the iconic views and a glass of prosecco or two will make up for it?

2. Kee’s Hotel, Upper Main Street, Stranorlar.

Our runner up is Kee’s Hotel in Stranorlar who are offering a special carvery from 12:30 to 3 pm. The carvery costs €24.95 for adults, €13.95 for ten to fourteen year olds, €8.95 for four to nine year olds and under fours eat free!

1. The Silver Tassie Hotel, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny. 

You voted and we listened, and now here we have it folks. Your number one choice from the fatherly foodie to the sweet-toothed son. You, the people of Donegal, have chosen The Silver Tassie as the gold medal winner for those who like to lunch.

The Hotel has already won the Ulster Hotel Carvery of the Year Award and that’s really no surprise, their five course carvery is both delicious and affordable. €22:50 per adult and €12 per child with children under four eating for free!

So head on down to Ramelton this Sunday to curb your hunger with the best lunch on offer in Donegal!

A few notable mentions who unfortunately did not make the top ten but were very close were the Mulroy Woods Hotel Milford, McGettigan’s Hotel Letterkenny, the Ballyliffin Lodge Hotel and Spa Inishowen, Arena7 Letterkenny, and of course ‘Mammy’s house.’
