Anna from Farrenwide looks backstage at the new Century Complex Bar and Grill in Letterkenny.

Over the Easter holidays, I had the pleasure of checking out the Backstage Bar and Grill at the Century Complex, Letterkenny.

A little too old to make use of the amazing play area facilities, I went to the restaurant ahead of a cinema trip that night. With most films starting around 8.30pm or thereabouts, a 7pm dinner booking was ideal and gave ample time to enjoy a tasty bite to eat before the film.

The décor inside was very funky, with seating areas named such things as ‘The Green Room’ and various other in-keeping with the backstage theme of this lovely, American style diner, only a stone’s throw from the cinema itself.

I poured over an extensive and very reasonably priced menu, finally deciding on a taco chip. To accompany this, I enjoyed a Gin Fizz cocktail and opted for no dessert – only to leave some room for popcorn at the cinema!

Following a lovely meal, I enjoyed some further eating by way of snacks during a light-hearted, feel-good film, ‘Going in Style’.

I was hugely impressed with this new complex and would class it as any parent’s dream for a rainy day, birthday party or simply treat day out for all the family. With excellent value and the convenience of playing, dining and the cinema itself all on the same grounds, it is an ideal place to spend an afternoon with the family or evening out and cinema trip with friends.

I look forward to another trip to the Century Complex, very soon!
