Conor McGregor’s big sister Aoife got married yesterday at the five star Powerscourt Hotel in Co Wicklow.

The McGregor family pulled out all of the stops to make Aoife’s wedding comparable to a ceremony from an ethereal fairytale.

Last month McGregor announced that he is taking a sabbatical from fighting as he awaits the birth of his first child with his girlfriend Dee Devlin, who is due to give birth in May. Conor is now spending much of his time with his family, although he is still training.

Former St Eunans and Donegal GAA star Brendan Devenney also took part in the occasion as he was a groomsman.

The groom, Mark Elliott, has been a close friend of Devenney’s for many years.

McGregor told fans waiting outside the reception that; “I’d better get inside, this isn’t my day, this is my sister’s day.” Several burly minders with in-ear radios also kept watch inside the lobby preventing people from taking pictures of the bride.

Conor’s pregnant girlfriend Dee Devlin was a bridesmaid for Aoife and looked stunning with her soft curls and sequined dress.

Conor posed proudly with his gorgeous big sister during the reception.

Conor was also sure to get a picture with his mammy Margaret, or ‘the matriarch’ as Conor calls her!

Mc Gregor also wrote on Instagram “What a time to be alive! God bless and happy New Year to all my family, my friends and my fans! We are going to toast tonight!”
