Now that there is evidence that Santa brings diamond rings, we might have to update our wish lists.
Santa sees all in the run up to Christmas, and this week he witnessed a display of festive romance. Paddy Doherty and his girlfriend Colette Toland went to the Santa Express experience at Oakfield Park in Raphoe, where all Colette’s Christmas wishes came true.
Santa brought this couple the gift of love, and presented a ring for Paddy to go down on one knee and ask the big question.
Colette said YES, and there were celebrations all round. Someone must have been very good this year!
The couple had a special photoshoot in the enchanting grounds of Oakfield Park, before toasting to their love at the Clanree Hotel.
Speaking to Donegal Woman, Paddy reveals how much preparation went into the proposal:
“I’ve been organising it from October, picking the right ring, organising family, and in contact with Brian at Oakfield Park. I gave him the ring prior to us meeting santa then santa gave her the ring and I proposed. Our first date was at Ed Sheeran which was random because we had only known each other a week, so I also gave Brian an Ed Sheeran CD to play during the proposal.”
Paddy had arranged for his and Colette’s family to visit Oakfield Park for Christmas this week, and around 20 of them where there to celebrate the engagement. Getting his girlfriend to go see Santa wasn’t too much of a task, Paddy said, “Colette didn’t take much convincing, she do anything for a laugh.”
